The houses are just a short walk, or drive (limited parking), to the picturesque Prussia Cove, which is formed by 3 coves: Piskies Cove, Bessies Cove and Kings Cove.

Prussia Cove has the most famous history of smuggling in Penwith. John Carter, the self proclaimed King of Prussia and a notorious smuggler in the eighteenth century, worked here. He was noted for his exploits, including firing a cannon at Revenue shipping and breaking in to Revenue premises. John Carter's grave can be seen at the neighbour village of St. Hilary.

The cove is now used for fishing and bathing. The cliff paths, giving wonderful views of Mounts Bay, Cudden Point and all along the coast to the Lizard Point, leading to Kenneggy Beach and the equally pretty Bessie’s, Piskies’ and Stackhouse coves - well known for viewing seals who often haul out onto the sloping rocks.

The west coast is home to the surfing beaches of Praa Sands, Porthleven and Perran Sands at Perranuthnoe, all of which are within a short walk or 10 minute drive.

Not far away is Marazion, St. Michaels’ Mount, Praa Sands with its good beaches and golf course, Helston (home of the Furry Dance), Penzance and picturesque St. Ives with its surfing and Tate Gallery and Studios. Mousehole, a very pretty seaside village, is also a short drive - watch out for the fantastic alotments on the outskirts with sculptures made out of fishing materials.

The National Maritime Museum is in Falmouth and there are many gardens to visit including the Eden Project.
